LDHS Teacher Arrested

An investigation began the morning of 4/25/2024 after a Laurens High School school resource officer was advised of an incident involving a teacher showing inappropriate photos to students. On 4/18/2024, the teacher allegedly connected his personal phone to the classroom digital white board, scrolling through his camera roll at which time an inappropriate photo was displayed on the screen in the presence of students.

Joseph Griffin Beckham has been placed on unpaid administrative leave by Laurens School District 55 and has been arrested. He has been charged with multiple counts of Disseminating

Harmful Material to Minors.

More charges are pending and this is an active investigation.

LCSO investigators and Victims Advocates spent time contacting parents of other students in Beckham’s classes to inform them of the incident prior to this release and to encourage them to speak with their children.
