Project Lifesaver
We have received many calls lately inquiring about our Project Lifesaver Program so we wanted to reshare this information: Project Lifesaver is a rapid response program designed to locate individuals who are at risk of wandering. Participants wear a bracelet that contains a battery-operated transmitter with a unique frequency. If the individual wanders away from home, Laurens County Dispatch is contacted and Sheriff's Office staff respond with tracking equipment to locate the

Retired K9 Remus Passes Away
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of former LCSO K-9 Remus. Remus retired in March of 2025 after faithfully serving the citizens of Laurens County. Though he was retired, Remus remained a valued part of the LCSO family, and we are grateful for his dedication, loyalty, and service to this county during his time here. We extend our condolences to his handler, family, and all who served alongside him. Rest easy, Remus. Well done.


Man Missing in Gray Court
Update: Mr. Thomas has been located. Our sincere prayers are with the family. BE ON THE LOOKOUT 85 year old James Thomas 5’4 150 lbs Missing from the area of Goose Way in Gray Court. Last seen at approx 8pm last night wearing brown/khaki pants and a brown/white shirt. LCSO Receives Grant for Project Lifesaver
The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) has awarded grant funding to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office to expand their Project Lifesaver program, which provides safety technology to Laurens County families caring for loved ones prone to wandering due to Alzheimer’s and other cognitive-related conditions. Wandering is a common and potentially dangerous behavior among individuals with a dementia-related illness. Someone with dementia who wanders can quickly become disorie

Law Enforcement Presence- McCoy Road
UPDATE 4:42: Suspect in custody — There is heavy law enforcement presence in the area of Confederate Drive and McCoy Road in Ware Shoals relating to an incident involving Greenville and Greenwood Counties. LCSO Accepting Items for Senior Valentine Bags
It’s that time of year again ❤️ The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is collecting items for our Senior Valentine Care Bags as part of our Senior Outreach Services program. We have many seniors enrolled, including several who live alone, and we love finding ways to bring a little extra cheer to them. Below are some suggested items, but any donation is truly appreciated.
