

Arrest Made After Memory Lane Death
On November 25th, Deputies responded to Memory Lane in Enoree in reference to a juvenile with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, it was determined that an 18 year old at the residence negligently discharged a firearm one time, striking the 14 year old juvenile. The 14 year old did succumb to his injuries. 18 year old Gavin Ray Dutton of Woodruff was arrested and charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Possession of a Stolen Weapon (Obliterated Serial Number). Man Charged with Trafficking Meth
On October 19th, Deputies were assisting Highway Patrol with a safety checkpoint at the intersection of Highway 72 West and Highway 39. A strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from a vehicle and marijuana was handed over to a Deputy. After a search of the vehicle, Deputies located multiple digital scales commonly used in the sale of narcotics and a pill in addition to the previously mentioned marijuana. Sgt Alexander Recognized by Governor McMaster
November 2, 2022 Sergeant Amanda Alexander of the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was recently recognized by Governor McMaster for saving a life by administering the overdose reversal drug naloxone in an emergency situation. Governor McMaster presented a symbolic challenge coin to each law enforcement officer who has administered naloxone and stated that South Carolina is truly made greater by the dedication and efforts of our state’s law enforcement officers.
