The inmate litter crew cleaned up 35,920 pounds of trash this past month! The following roads were cleaned: -Riverfork Road (2 days)
-Milton Road near 56
-Welcome Church Road
-Ghost Creek Road
-Stomp Springs Road
-Georgia Road (2 days)
-Satterwhite Road
-Bagwell Road
-Bookroom Road and Hwy 76 area
-Torrington Road
-Curry's Lake Road and Wasp Drive It should be noted that volunteers just cleaned up Riverfork Road in March and the bulk of this litter is found near the Box Dump

LCSO partnering with District 55 to Implement "Handle With Care"

Subject Arrested for DUI
On October 19, 2022 a deputy was on routine patrol on I385 southbound when he observed a vehicle driving recklessly. The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, however the driver continued, exiting the interstate and continuing into Laurens where he eventually stopped on South Harper Street Extension. The subject was identified as Robert Darnell Martin Jr. and the deputy discovered that Martin had a juvenile in the vehicle with him during this incident. Subject stated h

Trunk or Treat- Candy Donations Needed
The Laurens County Sheriff's Office is gearing up for our annual Trunk or Treat, which will be held at our office on Monday, October 31st starting at 5:30PM and lasts until the candy runs out! We anticipate the usual large crowd of nearly 500 children and we need your help. We are accepting candy donations until October 27th and you can drop yours off during normal business hours.

Man Arrested After Altercation
On October 16, 2022 at approximately 11pm, deputies were dispatched to 20669 Hwy 221 North in reference to an altercation that had already occurred. Upon arrival, deputies did discover an individual who had been stabbed and medical aid was rendered immediately. This individual was identified as Benjamin Derick Griffin of Laurens and he did succumb to his injuries. Join us in welcoming K9 Abel to our team! Handler Deputy Heithold underwent training to work specifically with Abel, who is a firearm detection dog. Laurens School District 55 has partnered with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office to bring in this K9 in an effort to further protect our students and schools.
