Thank you for volunteering at YOUR animal shelter. Volunteers are important to us and assist us so much with the dogs in our care.

Please check each space below and sign at the end of this form indicating you have read and understood each section.

As a volunteer you must understand some important safety precautions while at the shelter or at any location interacting with or handling animals. First and foremost, animals can be unpredictable. Any animal can bite at any time. Always be aware of your surroundings and pay constant attention to the animal you are assisting at all times.

I assume the risks of being bitten, scratched, injured, or frightened by dogs and puppies in connection with my volunteer work for the Laurens County Sheriff’s Animal Shelter, (a division of the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office).

I agree to hold harmless The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, its employees, agents, elected officials, and administration for any injuries, damages, liabilities, losses, judgments, costs or expenses whatsoever, which I might suffer or sustain in connection with the performance of my volunteer activities for the Sheriff’s Animal Shelter. I will not hold the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office responsible for any claims, lawsuits, injuries, damages, losses, costs or expenses whatsoever, sustained by any companion animal or any person in connection with my volunteer activities for the Sheriff’s Office or my breach of the Sheriff’s Office rules, regulations, policies and programs.

I give the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office permission to publish my picture and name in any promotional materials to include, but not limited to, newsletters, web sites, commercials, and other advertisements or solicitation material. No payment from the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office will be expected in exchange for my volunteer work at the Shelter.
