The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) has awarded grant funding to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office to expand their Project Lifesaver program, which provides safety technology to Laurens County families caring for loved ones prone to wandering due to Alzheimer’s and other cognitive-related conditions. UPDATE 4:42: Suspect in custody — There is heavy law enforcement presence in the area of Confederate Drive and McCoy Road in Ware Shoals relating to an incident involving Greenville and Greenwood Counties. LCSO Accepting Items for Senior Valentine Bags
It’s that time of year again ❤️ The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is collecting items for our Senior Valentine Care Bags as part of our Senior Outreach Services program. We have many seniors enrolled, including several who live alone, and we love finding ways to bring a little extra cheer to them. Below are some suggested items, but any donation is truly appreciated. LCSO 2025 Year in Review
The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is proud to share our 2025 Year in Review statistics. In 2025, we responded to 38,062 calls for service, an increase of more than 1,800 calls compared to 2024 (36,216 calls). Even with this rise in call volume, our average response time decreased. Man Arrested on Five Counts of Assault and Battery, Deputy Commended
On December 26th at approximately 1:45PM, deputies responded to the area of Irwin Road in Laurens in reference to a report of a home invasion with shots fired. Deputies were advised that victims had fled with small children into wooded terrain while being actively fired upon. Deputy Hawkins was the first to respond on scene and without hesitation or regard for his own safety, entered the wooded area in an urgent effort to locate the victims. Laurens Man Arrested on 5 Counts of Trafficking in Fentanyl
On December 3, 2025, following a months-long investigation, Investigators with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sylver Jordan Sargent of Laurens and charged him with five counts of Trafficking in Fentanyl. The investigation also led to the seizure of cash and assets tied to the operation. Arrest Made in 10/3 Robbery/Shooting Incident
As previously reported, on October 3, 2025, deputies from the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a robbery and shooting incident in the area of Coleman Road in Clinton. Upon arrival, deputies located a female, identified as Taneal Evans of Clinton, who was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
