In 2025, we responded to 38,062 calls for service, an increase of more than 1,800 calls compared to 2024 (36,216 calls). Even with this rise in call volume, our average response time decreased. On December 26th at approximately 1:45PM, deputies responded to the area of Irwin Road in Laurens in reference to a report of a home invasion with shots fired. Deputies were advised that victims had fled with small children into wooded terrain while being actively fired upon. As previously reported, on October 3, 2025, deputies from the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a robbery and shooting incident in the area of Coleman Road in Clinton. Upon arrival, deputies located a female, identified as Taneal Evans of Clinton, who was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
