Bail Scam Warning

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public to be cautious of scammers attempting to collect fraudulent bond payments.

The Laurens County Detention Center does not accept bond payments through Cash App, Venmo, Zelle, or any other payment app. Additionally, we do not mail bond payment demands, and any document claiming to be from the “United States District Court of Laurens” is not an official document.

If you receive a phone call, text message, email, or letter demanding immediate payment for someone’s bond, do not send money until you have verified the information.
