Two Arrested After Animal Welfare Check- Marijuana Plants Found

On April 21, 2026 at approximately 2:15PM, Animal Control responded to Shepard Drive in Clinton in reference to animal neglect.
Upon receiving consent to enter the residence to check the welfare of animals, an odor of marijuana was noted and a large amount of marijuana plants were observed. In addition, the following animals were observed to be in the listed conditions:
-Eastern Box Turtle with no access to food, water, or shelter
-1000+ chickens without proper water or shelter. These chickens were malnourished, missing feathers, infested with mites, and lethargic.
-1 dog tethered to a tree without access to food, water, or proper shelter.
-2 dogs tethered by chains without swivels that would enable access to water and shelter.
-No proof of rabies inoculations for three dogs.
Forty-two (42) marijuana plants were seized, as well as approximately 2 pounds of marijuana.
Diana Rosa Gutierrez Sanderson of Clinton was arrested and charged as follows:
-Humane Animal Care Offense x 3
-Tethering Offense x 2
-Evidence of Rabies Inoculation Offense x 2
-Possession of Native Turtle
Josvany Oreilly Castro of Clinton was arrested and charged as follows:
-Possession with Intent Distribute Marijuana
-Trafficking in Marijuana
-Tethering Offense x2
-Humane Animal Care Offense x3
-Evidence of Rabies Inoculation Offense x2
-Possession of Native Turtle
