Animal Cruelty Case

On August 16th, 2018, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was notified about an animal cruelty case on Lisbon Road. After being notified by Laurens County Animal Control, The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office launched a criminal investigation. After our investigation, we obtained one warrant on Elizabeth Lena James for ill treatment of the dog in question. On 8/16/2018 Elizabeth Lena James was arrested and booked into the Laurens County Detention Center. “Inhumane treatment of animals will not be tolerated on my watch” Sheriff Don Reynolds. “No animal should have to go without food and water”. James had her bond hearing on the morning of 08/17/2018 and has a $15,000 cash or surety bond.
