On 2/22/2022, a relative of a student contacted Laurens District 55 High School in reference to the student possibly having a firearm on school property. The student was immediately located in class by the School Resource Officer and the loaded firearm was located in a bookbag and secured. The student was secured and transported to DJJ. The Laurens County Sheriffâs Office is investigating further.
