Winetta Street Murders

Deputies from the Laurens County Sheriff's Office received a call at 11:15pm on Saturday, May 20 stating shots were fired in the 200 block of Winetta Street. When deputies and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived, they found two black males with gunshot wounds. Both males were transported to Laurens County Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The two victims have been identified as 43-year-old Sidney Speaks and 26-year-old Roydrecilous Irby.

Deputies from the Laurens County Sheriff's Office, along with Crime Scene Investigators from the State Law Enforcement Division, are actively processing the scene at 275 Winetta Street in Laurens. Authorities do not have any suspects in custody, but Investigators are following up on leads at this time.
