LCSO K9 Handlers Show Up For Fargo's Law

  • 1 min read

Today, our K9 deputies were at the Statehouse in support of Fargo’s Law (H 3034): legislation that would significantly increase penalties for the intentional injury or killing of K9s.

From apprehending offenders to detecting illegal narcotics, locating missing persons, and identifying firearms or explosive devices, K9 teams step into situations most are running away from. The work is dangerous and the risks are real.

Supporting Fargo’s Law means recognizing the sacrifice and service of these four-legged deputies and holding accountable anyone who intentionally harms them.

"These dogs are vital members of this team. There is a great need for enhanced legal protections and repercussions. They put their lives on the line in service to their communities. We value their service and anyone who intentionally harms them will be held accountable."

-Sheriff Don Reynolds
