Arrest Made In Tanglewood Death Investigation

On March 7, 2026, at approximately 5:30AM, deputies responded to Tanglewood Way in Gray Court in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, deputies located an individual in the roadway. The victim did succumb to his injuries. The SLED Child Fatality Task Force responded in addition to LCSO Investigators and the Laurens County Coroner’s Office.

Due to the sensitive nature and to maintain the integrity of this case, we will not be releasing further information at this time.

18-year-old Ryan Ingersoll of Charlotte, NC has been arrested and charged with Murder, Armed Robbery, Criminal Conspiracy, and Possession of a Weapon During A Violent Crime.

A juvenile suspect has been detained in North Carolina and is awaiting extradition to South Carolina.

The Laurens County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as 15-year-old Leo Scott Epting.
