7 Arrested, Stolen Vehicle and Drugs Recovered

On May 15, 2024 deputies responded to Williams Road in Gray Court in reference to the location of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, an individual immediately fled on foot, but was detained a short time later. Deputies were able to confirm that the vehicle stolen out of Greenville County was at this residence in plain sight and they observed several articles of what appeared to be narcotics. At this same time, other individuals in the home attempted to flee the scene as well but were also detained.

A search warrant was obtained for this property and the search of the incident location resulted in the following, in addition to the recovery of the stolen pick-up truck:

-Approximately 56 grams of Methamphetamine

-1 stolen John Deere Gator (out of Greenville County)

-1 revolver

-Various boxes and containers of ammunition

The subjects listed were arrested and charged as follows:

-Barry Dixon Armstrong, of Enoree: Trafficking Meth, 1st Offense

-Daniel Paul Weinel, of Fountain Inn: Trafficking Meth, 1st Offense and on hold for Anderson Co.

-Amber Nicole Maloy, of Gray Court: Trafficking Meth, 1st Offense and Bench Warrant for Breach of Peace

-Logun Jay Gaines, of Greenville: Receiving Stolen Goods and on hold for Greenville Co.

-Morgan Lee Campbell, of Gray Court: Distribution of Methamphetamine, 1st Offense

-Roderick Wallington, of Gray Court: Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Trafficking Meth 3rd or subsequent offense, Simple Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Weapon During Violent Crime

“The recovery of a stolen vehicle led to the discovery of other illegal activity, which is usually how this goes. Property offenses often go hand-in-hand with drug offenses. Great work by the deputies involved. Seven people are where they belong and I hope they now have enough time to think twice before stealing from hard working citizens.” – Sheriff Don Reynolds
