Drugs and Stolen Handgun
On February 19, 2019 the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on E. Main Street in Laurens which led to the seizure of illegal narcotics and a stolen firearm. During the incident Deputies found the passenger, Rebecca Nicole Wilkie, to be wanted by the Clinton Police Department on an outstanding warrant for Grand Larceny. She was also wanted by the Abbeville County Sheriff’s Office for an outstanding General Sessions Bench Warrant. The driver of the vehicle, Brandon Jones, was found to be in possession of over 100 grams of methamphetamine, more than 5 grams of heroin, and a stolen handgun. These items were seized and logged into evidence at the Sheriff’s Office. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Johnson Detention Center where they were booked on the following charges:

Rebecca Nicole Wilkie Possession with intent to distribute heroin Possession of a schedule II narcotic (Clinton City’s Warrant was also served, and she will be transferred to Abbeville to face the bench warrants at some point)
