UPDATE: Subject Apprehended

THIS SUBJECT HAS BEEN APPREHENDED AND IS AWAITING A BOND HEARING.

On 9/08/18 the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence on Carraige Farms Ct. in Gray Court in reference to a dog which was being mistreated. Deputies located a dog in a wooded area that appeared to be near death. The animal was found to be without water and only a small amount of food on the ground, which was covered in ants. The dog appeared to be extremely malnourished and dehydrated, to the point that it was unable to bark or get up. Deputies called for animal control to come take possession of the dog, so it could be treated for its injuries. Animal control arrived and took the dog to an animal hospital for treatment. During the investigation, Captain Martin identified the owner of the dog as Michael Christopher Yeargin of 157 Foothills Tr in Gray Court. A warrant was obtained on Yeargin for Ill Treatment of an animal. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Mr. Yeargin they are asked to call the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office at 864-984-4967.
