Murder

On July 1, 2018 the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Tullyton Dr. in Fountain Inn in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, Deputies located a female deceased in a camper with an apparent gunshot wound. Investigators quickly determined that the victim’s boyfriend, Anthony Cruz Garcia, was responsible for the shooting. After the shooting, Mr. Garcia fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Investigators located Mr. Garcia a short time later and he was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Garcia was later transported to Johnson Detention Center where he was booked for the charge of murder.
