Mail Theft Alert

The Laurens County Sheriff's Office has recently received reports of mail theft in different areas spanning the county. We want citizens to be aware that thieves will take full advantage of a mailbox containing your personal information. Thieves are determined now more than ever to intercept both incoming and outgoing mail. We suggest that you check your mail daily if possible, being mindful not to leave it overnight. If you are expecting a check, credit card, or other valuable mail and you do not receive it, contact the sender as soon as possible to inquire about it. If you mail a payment and see unexpected charges on your account, report this activity to your bank immediately. Be vigilant in your neighborhoods and report suspicious behavior.
