Shooting Incident

On March 15, 2019 the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Ballard Drive in Cross Hill in reference to a shooting incident. Deputies arrived and found a female with a gunshot wound to her arm and a male with an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. We are still in the early stages of the investigation, but it appears the male subject arrived and began shooting at the female, as well as a locksmith who was changing locks on the residence. She sustained a gunshot wound to the arm but was able to make her way inside, along with the locksmith. It appears the male subject then turned the gun on himself prior to Deputies arriving. This is being investigated as a domestic violence incident between two individuals who recently divorced; however we’re not releasing the identities of either party at this time.
